This workshop series blends art history with hands-on exploration in mixed media and collage. We’ll take inspiration from the work of Howardena Pindell, a prominent American artist, known for her unique collage style, particularly her use of punched circles and ovals, often layered and arranged in a way that creates a dynamic, tactile, and sometimes chaotic, yet rhythmic and aesthetia groundbreaking. Through an introduction to Pindell's artistic practice, we’ll examine how she uses shape, color, and composition to create compelling narratives. While the workshops emphasize developing your own collage style, her work serves as a springboard for discovering new approaches and refining your visual language.
